General

Nope. Due to time constraints, he doesn’t do that anymore. You are free to use his art as tattoo designs, we just ask you tag Abel and give him credit if posted online or social media. And send us a pic, we’d love to see it and post it too!

Yes we do. Please Contact Us.

Congratulations! You have been chosen by Karma. Kidding. That really is a bummer and while we do everything we can to carefully pack and protect your order, once it gets picked up it’s off on an adventure to the dark and scary world of… Transportation Land. But really, you must be special because this is a once-a-year situation we are dealing with here. Please follow these steps so we can get your new order shipped out ASAP: If the package was damaged, please take a few photos of it (if you still have it) so we can file a claim with the shipper. We need this fairly quickly. Take a few pictures of the damaged product. Email the photos along with your order information to: contact@abelarts.com. Unfortunately, we can’t be responsible for you mishandling the order while opening and unpacking it, so be careful with that razor blade!

Most of the time, you may just need to triple check that your information is correct in the form. Does the billing address and zip code match the one for the card? If it still fails, try using another card and then contact your credit card company.

We donate art to a lot of different causes every year, and as much as we would like to donate to a lot more, we are limited in what we can provide. We try to keep our donations focused on ocean/environmental so if you are looking for art for another sort of cause, there may not be a good fit here. Please use our Contact Page form and reach out.

Abel does not pursue logo projects any longer. If you are interested in licensing existing artwork, please Contact Us.

Artwork

We have originals for sale at several galleries. The best way to see where an available original is located is to Contact Us and let us know what painting or paintings you are interested in, and we can put you in touch with the gallery or let you know if we have it here at the studio. We also send out newsletters and write a blog and post on Social Media when we have an upcoming art show. You can view current upcoming shows and events HERE.

Most of Erik’s original art is finished with 2 layers of clear, eco-plant-based protective coatings. Paintings can be wiped clean with a slightly damp cloth. As with any painting or original artwork, we also recommend keeping your art out of direct sunlight as much as possible. UV rays may cause certain media and colors to slightly change over time.

Abel’s medium of choice is acrylic paints and colored pencil on wood panel.

Prints

We’d be glad to help recommend framing options for our paper prints, canvas prints and wood prints. Paper Prints: Although we show our paper prints with all black frames and no matte, the possibilities are endless. You can choose a wide matte and wide frame to make these appear larger and fill up more space on the wall or keep it small with no matte and a sleek, thin frame. We do not offer frames for paper prints. Canvas Prints: We now offer our canvas prints professionally framed in wood float frames where the canvas appears to “float” in the middle of the frame. This option does not cover up any of the artwork and they come in 3 popular finishes/colors. Read more about our Canvas frames HERE. Refer to your local framer for other options.

Please refer to our About Our Prints Page.

Shipping

We try to get all orders out the door within 1 week. Canvas prints, framed and unframed, ship out within 10 business days from Portland, OR or our Florida printer for East Coast customers.

Thanks for your patience, we try to keep it a small, simple operation here in order to stay sane. Once your order is shipped, you’ll receive an email with tracking.

Our small paper prints ship USPS. Our hats, puzzles stickers and various other goodies ship USPS or UPS. Paper prints over 18″x24″ are rolled and shipped in a tube and shipped FedEx.

If you order a small paper print with a larger paper print, it will get rolled with the larger print.

Canvas prints, framed and unframed, are shipped in custom boxes with special trays to keep the canvas centered with a buffer zone around all the edges and are shipped individually via FedEx.

Orders over $300 will require an adult signature to have the package delivered.

If you ordered more than one item, it may come in separate shipments, on separate days, shipped from different locations depending on whether the items are shipping from our studio or from one of our print partners. Thanks for your patience!

Yes. We ship all over the world. When you have items in your cart, you can calculate shipping on the Cart page by entering your country.

There are exceptions for some countries because we’ve had problems with high import taxes or customs. Please contact us and we’ll try to figure it out.

Our galleries ship original paintings world wide.

Please note: You will be responsible for any import taxes or duties from your country. We recommend you check into these costs before you order.

Unfortunately that’s the way it is. If you want to order a Canvas Print, one option is to order the print without the wood stretcher bars and it can be rolled and shipped in a tube for much less. You can have your local frame shop stretch it for you. Contact us if you’d like to discuss custom options for shipping.
